Trio Apollo
Formed in 2003, Trio Apollo is a professional woodwind trio (oboe, clarinet, and bassoon) in Bismarck, North Dakota. Their commitment to musical excellence, combined with a desire to bring Classical music to people of all ages, has earned them a reputation as one of the area's leading musical ensembles.
Trio Apollo performs two annual concerts at the Trinity Community Center, a renovated early 20th century church in downtown Bismarck. Patrons comment upon the ensemble's innovative programming and their desire to make Classical music accessible to everyone. Recent concerts include: May I Have This Dance?, All-American Pie, A Night at a Parisian Cafe, A Lewis & Clark Musical Excursion, From Rags to Riches, and Music Around the World. Bismarck's Channel 12 (Community Access TV) airs footage of Trio Apollo concerts.
Our next performance is "Old Meets New" a concert of music by French masters and local composers on Sunday, 7 October 2007, 4:00 p.m. at the Trinity (Lutheran) Community Center.
To reach a wider audience base, Trio Apollo collaborates with local events and organizations, including Urban Harvest, Brown Bag Concert Series, Live Art in Motion, Capitol A-fair, Bismarck Arts and Galleries Association (BAGA). By inviation, Trio Apollo has performed at conferences of the North Dakota Music Educators' Association, North Dakota Council on the Arts, and North Dakota Education Association.
Often small communities do not have regular access to live Classical music. In accordance with their mission, Trio Apollo has presented concerts for a number of communities outside of Bismarck, including Dickinson, Richardton, Washburn, Hettinger, Grand Forks, and Ellendale.
In addition to formal concerts, Trio Apollo performs for weddings, receptions, private/corporate parties, religious services, schools, youth groups, and fundraisers.
